Founded in 1988 by Barrie Smith and Judi Cullam, Frankland Estate is a family-owned winery located in the remote and rugged Frankland River region, one of Western Australia's most isolated and pristine winegrowing areas. What began as a bold vision in the wilds of the Great Southern has grown into a benchmark producer, renowned for its purity, precision, and deep sense of place. Today, the estate is led by second-generation siblings Hunter and Elizabeth Smith, with Elizabeth’s husband Brian Kent heading up winemaking since 2010. Under their stewardship, Frankland Estate has continued to evolve, maintaining a focus on Riesling as its signature while also producing exceptional Shiraz, Cabernet blends, and other regional varieties. Certified organic since 2009, the estate’s commitment to sustainability and land stewardship runs deep.
