Why buy your organic pinot noir from FAB

Pinot noir is one of the most misrepresented categories in wine retail. A label that reads organic carries no legal weight without independent certification behind it, and a price that suggests quality does not guarantee the farming that produces it.

Every producer in this collection holds current, independently audited organic or biodynamic certification. Our team tastes every wine before it is listed. The estates and domaines you find here are, for the most part, small and family-run. They farm without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, harvest by hand, and keep winery intervention to a minimum. Their place in this collection is not earned by a compelling story. It is earned by what is in the glass.

For those in Sydney, the FAB store at Shop 1/202 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills offers a complimentary wine tasting every day from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Mark and the team curate the selection daily. No reservation is required, and there is no obligation to purchase.

Explore the collection by region

This collection spans the most important organic pinot noir regions in the world. Browse and discover our selection of French Burgundy pinot noir, organic Tasmanian pinot noir, biodynamic New Zealand pinot noir from Central Otago, and Austrian pinot noir from producers who have farmed organically for decades. Each region brings its own distinct character to the variety, and all of them are chosen by our team because they are genuinely worth your time.

Frequently asked questions

I am buying organic pinot noir as a gift. Can FAB help me choose the right bottle?
Yes. If you are in Sydney, come into the store at Shop 1/202 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills any day between 12 and 8pm and Mark and the team will help you find the right bottle for the occasion and the budget. If you are ordering online, send us an email and we will point you in the right direction. We know every wine in this collection personally.

I have been disappointed by organic pinot noir before. How is this different?
Most disappointing organic wine comes from producers who converted to organic certification for commercial reasons rather than farming conviction. Every producer FAB lists was selected because the wine in the glass reflects the quality of the farming. If it does not pass our tasting, it does not go live, regardless of the certification it holds.

I want to order a mixed selection of organic pinot noir. Is that possible?
Yes. You can add any combination of bottles to your order and checkout as normal. Free delivery applies to all orders over $200 Australia-wide. If you would like a curated selection put together for you, get in touch and we will do that for you directly.

How quickly will my wine order arrive?
Orders are packed and dispatched by our team in Sydney. Delivery times vary by location across Australia, but most metropolitan orders arrive within two to three business days. Every order is packed to protect the wine throughout transit.

I am not sure which region of organic pinot noir to start with. Where do you recommend?
It depends on what you enjoy. If you prefer elegance and restraint, start with organic Burgundy pinot noir. If you want something more expressive with richer fruit, New Zealand or Tasmanian organic pinot noir is the better entry point. If you are genuinely unsure, visit the FAB store in Surry Hills.

Why does organic pinot noir cost more than conventional wine?
Organic viticulture requires significantly more labour than conventional farming. Hand-harvesting, cover cropping, and the absence of chemical shortcuts all add time and cost at the vineyard level. The price reflects that work honestly. It also reflects the fact that the producers in this collection are making wine in relatively small quantities, from land that has been farmed with long-term quality in mind rather than volume.
