A generous but precisely proportioned wine with dark finesse, if that doesn't sound too crazy. Great energy at the bold finish." - James Suckling.com

A generous fragrance combines aromas of stone fruit with gentle herbal notes and a delicate nuance of minerality. On the palate the fruit is rich and sweet, fennel and aniseed set herbal accents, lemony acidity manages to balance the exuberance of residual sugar.

The 2019 Reiterpfad-Hofstück GG is still slightly reductive, opening to a precise and flinty-scented bouquet with tropical fruit aromas and generous ripeness and warmth but also precision. On the palate, this is an intense and juicy yet refined and elegant Riesling from Ruppertsberg. The finish is crystalline and pure, with a lingering salty flavor, but also powerful and aromatic.

A. Christmann

For over two centuries, the Christmann family has been on a noble quest: to craft exceptional wines that reflect the enchanting landscape, climate, and unique soils of the Palatinate. Today, this legacy is carried forward by father Steffen and daughter Sophie, with the invaluable guidance of grandfather Fritz. Steffen Christmann has held the esteemed position of President of the VDP since 2007 (a group of about 200 German wine producers who act independently from the German Wine Laws), while Sophie, enriched by her studies and international winemaking experiences, injects fresh perspectives into the family business since 2018. What unites these generations is an unwavering dedication to producing wines that encapsulate their terroir. The hallmark of excellence at this prestigious winery is rooted in the vineyards, from the most esteemed that Germany has to offer that often demand some aging before express their full potential.
