This exceptionally limited production, crafted in honour of Jean, Bruno Berard (Owner and Winemaker) Grandfather. This wine, selected from the oldest estate vines, is a rare gem reserved for the most outstanding vintages. In the glass, it unfolds with captivating aromas of ripe raspberries, cherries, mulberries, and delicate rose petals, offering a mere glimpse of the intricate, savory complexities that time will reveal. The medium to full-bodied palate boasts a satiny texture and layers of flavor, showcasing impressive concentration, lively acidity, and fine, structuring tannins. Robert Parker

The 2017 Beaujolais-Villages Jean Baptiste Bererd is living up to its promising showing last year, unwinding in the glass with aromas of raspberries, cherries, mulberries and rose petal, offering only hints of the savory complexity to come with bottle age. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with impressive concentration, lively acids and powdery structuring tannins. Displaying a bit more cut and reserve, it will be a longer-distance runner than the more immediate, fleshy 2018 rendition.

James Suckling

A deep, complex wine for this rather humble appellation with intense spice and wet-earth notes, as well as plenty of blackberry aromas. Impressive power and meaty depth, the generous tannins now well integrated, but still giving the long finish plenty of drive. From organically grown grapes.
