Michel Chapoutier, an unconventional visionary, challenging tradition and passionately embracing biodynamics. Dedicated to expressing the soil's essence, his philosophy is deeply rooted in the land. Brilliant golden yellow in the glass, this wine immediately signals depth and longevity. The nose is intensely mineral, laced with delicate celery leaf and a subtle whisper of oak, polished and seamlessly integrated. On the palate, it opens with generous breadth, revealing a rounded structure lifted by a fine exotic freshness and the gentle richness of roasted almonds. A wine of remarkable aging potential, capable of evolving gracefully over 30 to 60 years, and in exceptional vintages, up to 75.

Viticulture:The grapes producing “Le Méal” come from the Méal hillside. This is an old fluvioglacial alluvial deposit soil with shingles which contribute to the soil warming

Stone fruits, brioche, honeyed minerality, and white flowers all emerge from the 2022 Ermitage Le Méal Blanc, a bigger, richer effort compared to the L'Orée. Medium to full-bodied and concentrated, it shows bright acidity and beautiful purity, with a clean, focused style. Made from 100% Marsanne and aged primarily in demi-muids and foudre (10% new oak) with 15% in stainless steel for 12 months, it will cruise for 15-20 years. Drink 2025-2045.
