Vignoble Dauny

Pioneers of organic viticulture in the Loire Valley, the Dauny winery boasts a rich history that spans back to its founding in 1683, a legacy cherished through 13 generations. The journey towards organic farming began in 1964 when the Dauny family decided to transition their 1.45 hectares of vineyards. This pivotal step occurred in the same year when the first organic associations in France, Nature et Progrès and Lemaire-Boucher, were established. Despite facing initial challenges, Lucien Dauny remained resolute in his chosen path. Back then, the Dauny estate operated as a mixed farm, encompassing not only vineyards but also the cultivation of grains, and the raising of goats and cows. Today, the descendants tend to nearly 17 hectares of vineyards, carrying on the family tradition and commitment to organic practices.
