James Suckling

An excellent introduction to Austrian gruner veltliner, this is juicy, but dry, with a wide range of white and stone-fruit aromas, plus hints of white pepper and fresh herbs. Very clean, medium-bodied palate with a crisp but not tart finish.

Fritsch

The Fritsch family's Weinberghof has long been a beacon of quality in the Wagram region. Karl's father was a believer in the potential of Grüner Veltliner as a top-tier variety. In 1989, he initiated the classification of "wines of quality," making Fritsch synonymous with Wagram wine excellence. Both father and son recognized Wagram's versatility, capable of producing a diverse array of outstanding wines. Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, are the standout varieties, with Grüner Veltliner covering a third of the vineyard area. Karl also has a soft spot for Pinot Noir, showcasing its potential when treated with care. This respect for nature and humanity, coupled with transparency, creativity, and an open-minded approach, has forged a unique winemaking style. Fritsch wines are known for their straightforwardness, crispness, elegance, and down-to-earth character.
