Tasting Notes

Grattamacco, established in 1977, holds the distinction of being the second oldest estate in Bolgheri. The estate is situated on a hilly terrain, which shares its name with the estate. The name "Grattamacco" finds its origin in the mining of a mineral called "macco" during the ironworking process conducted by the Etruscans on these very hills. This Bolgheri Rosso boasts a striking ruby-red hue. Its aromatic profile unfolds with pronounced hints of marasca and plum, complemented by pleasing mineral notes. On the palate, it presents a fresh, intense, and savoury character, with well-balanced tannins.
