Halliday Wine Companion

Made from chardonnay and verdelho, this is a beautifully fresh fizz with faint tropical and stone fruit flavours. It is an excellent choice for those who prefer a fruitier, rather than savoury, style of wine. It has good intensity and lovely brightness. Serve well chilled to maximise the wine's freshness, focus the flavours and channel the length

Krinklewood

Krinklewood is a certified biodynamic winery in the Hunter Valley, producing organic wine in harmony with nature's rhythms. Nestled beside the Brokenback Range and Wollombi Brook, this family-owned estate features 49 acres of vineyards and a deep commitment to sustainable, earth-friendly farming. Founded in 1981 by Rod Windrim and family, Krinklewood embraced organic and biodynamic practices in 2002 — a bold move that set the estate apart in the Hunter Valley wine region. Every corner of the property reflects Rod's care and vision, making it a place of cherished memories as much as exceptional wine. Since 2020, Oscar Martin has been the custodian of Krinklewood, bringing a deep personal connection to the estate and a commitment to its sustainable future. His vision aligns with Krinklewood's long-standing dedication to organic viticulture and regenerative farming in the Hunter Valley. Winemaker Valentina Moresco sees wine as bottled poetry — a way to convey the essence of the land. She crafts Krinklewood's organic Hunter Valley wines as vessels of memory, evoking the quiet beauty of the estate: the Manchurian pears, the cellar door, the rhythm of the seasons. Krinklewood is not just a winery. It's an invitation to savour life's moments and the richness of one of Australia's most celebrated wine regions.
