Fresh and clean with a straw-like bouquet that builds into an array of white peach, jasmine and hints of nougat. The palate is layered and luxurious revealing grapefruit, lightly toasted cashews and subtle spice notes that lead to a clean mineral finish. Integrated and refined French oak selection with controlled lees contact adds a further level of depth.

Winemaking Style:Traditional

Winemaking:Each clonal component is carefully matched to the ideal selection of French oak, with different parcels then receiving different amounts of malolactic fermentation, contact with solids and lees stirring. Barrel ferments were allowed to start with wild yeasts before being finished with cultivated strains.

Viticulture:Rosily vineyard is planted on a gentle hill sloping down to a tributary of the Wilyabrup brook, which flows in the winter months. The soil types on the property vary from deep gravelly loams, to coarse gravels, to lighter sandy soils over a clay base.

Food Pairing:Lemon butter grilled prawns, Chicken Caesar salad, Apple and walnut Waldorf salad, Citrus-grilled chicken breast, Poached salmon, Lemon herb roasted chicken.

Halliday Companion - Erin Larkin

Powerful stone fruit is impacted by high toast oak on the nose. The streaks of golden in the glass are surely down to the time spent in oak, however the concentration of yellow peach and red apple indicate that the fruit will win out, in the end. Very impressive for the price.

The Wine Front - Mike Bennie

Some concentration but freshness, sea spray and citrus, nougat in the mix, tartness a factor but pleasing in the roll of the wine and finishes bright and lightly puckering. Oak, winemaking edifice is neat and tidy too, but there, you can tell. Quite a delicious thing here.
