Tasting Notes

Michel Tardieu, one of France's esteemed winemakers, is celebrated for his elusive, highly sought-after wines, even though he lacks his own vineyards. In 1996, alongside his friend Dominique Laurent, he co-founded the Tardieu-Laurent winery. Their vision was straightforward yet profound: procure the finest grapes from select plots tended by exceptional winegrowers and create exceptional wines in their own cellar. From northern appellations like Condrieu and St. Joseph to the iconic Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône, Tardieu-Laurent fulfills every oenophile's desires. This Syrah from Saint-Joseph unfolds with distinct aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and a subtle smokiness akin to incense. The palate is readily approachable and exudes abundant fruitiness. Notably refined tannins preside over a lush juiciness, resulting in a delightful, smooth wine with a medium-length finish.
