Barleith 2016: A striking, unfiltered red garnet that gleams with brilliance. The nose entices with vibrant aromas of ripe berries, spirited fruits, and an array of spices, led by bold pepper notes, complemented by hints of licorice and cinnamon. On the palate, it unfolds with expansiveness and intensity, a refreshing juiciness, and a gentle, velvety tannic embrace that gracefully enhances its elegance and complexity, leading to a satisfyingly long finish.

Wine Ageing:14 months in amphora clay vessels and 21 months in bottle.

Winemaking Style:Minimal intervention

Harvest:Hand harvested in small 15kg crates first week of October.

Winemaking:Spontaneous fermentation thanks to indigenous yeasts takes place in clay amphorae without temperature control. For the first 7 months, it macerates with the skins to extract gently the ripe tannins.

Viticulture:Vineyard "Barleith" is located at 300m above sea level on a slightly south-east facing terrace benefiting from the warm breezes of the nearby Lake Caldaro. The grapes grow on a soil rich in dolomite gravels.
