Strong varietal definition including blackberry and cassis fruits with integrated cedary oak. Medium to full-bodied from an excellent vintage with typical sub-district (Willyabrup) blueberry, olive, mint and spice characters. A dried herb finish is well supported by fine-grained tannins.

Harvest:The Cabernet vines were hand pruned, hand leaf plucked (to ensure good sunlight into the canopy) and hand harvested.

Viticulture:The most elevated section of the single vineyard site has a significant gravel component in the soils, which is crucial for the consistent production of premium Cabernet Sauvignon fruit.

Food Pairing:Lamb chops with mint jelly, Prime rib with au jus, Venison stew, Aged cheddar cheese, Grilled ribeye steak, Black truffle risotto, Beef brisket, Eggplant Parmesan.

Deep, ripe, packed with gravelly tannin, blackberry, dark mint chocolate and tobacco. A lot of flavour and impact, but compact and controlled, acidity is so well-settled, and all that tannin and tobacco goodness, along with some biscuit spiced oak, rolls out on the finish to excellent effect. Tops.

Matured for 16 months in French oak (40% new). This is filled with earthy cassis and salted Mariposa plum. 2018 was a near-on perfect vintage in Margaret River, and certainly the greatest in the region's history. It produced wines of power, grace and balance.
