This delicious, full-bodied Pinot Noir exudes lifted aromas of cherry and ripe red berry fruits. The palate shows a dominance of ripe fruit, yet is soft and elegant, finishing with firm tannins that sit in wonderful harmony with the fruit and acidity.

Winemaking Style:Modern / low-intervention

Harvest:Machine-harvested

Winemaking:The grapes were fermented in small open-top fermenters. The caps were plunged twice daily. After a period of 14 – 21 days, the batches were pressed off. The wine went through malolactic fermentation and remained aging for 7 months before it was blended and filtered prior to bottling.

Viticulture:The fruit comes mostly from the clay-rich hillside Raupo Creek vineyard in the Omaka Valley (91.32%) with a small amount also from the Noa vineyard, in the Wairau subregion (8.68%) which is made up of Waimakariri type soils of alluvial origin.

Food Pairing:Shredded duck watercress & orange salad, Roast duck with orange glaze, Baked field mushrooms with breadcrumbs garlic and thyme, Chicken mushroom and parmesan spaghetti, Venison haunch.
