Fattoria Pagano

In 2001, Antonio Pagano embarked on a visionary mission: to reintroduce Falerno del Massico to the world. This wine, a descendant of the famed Roman vintage Falernum, once graced the tables of emperors and patricians. Yet, it vanished with the fall of the Roman Empire. The Monte Massico area, its original production site, began to be rediscovered in the 19th century, but only in the last four decades have local producers revived this ancient tradition, resulting in a wine that now stands among Campania's finest. These vineyards, indigenous grapes, sit at an altitude between 270m and 300m above sea level. Their location, behind the dormant Roccamonfina volcano and roughly 5km from the sea, combines volcanic terrain with sea proximity, creating an essential geo-climatic balance for wine production. Antonio, the pioneer of this revival, driven by a deep love for his land, sparked a passion that captivated his son, and together they gave life to this project Fattoria Pagano.
