Lovely aromas of crushed blackberries, mushrooms, wet stones and cardamom. A light, gamey note, too. Full-to medium-bodied with intense, juicy fruit flavors that vie with still firm, fine tannins. The finish is long, intense and savory, leaving a salty aftertaste. From organically grown grapes. Interesting to taste now, but better to drink after 2022.

This is a powerful, full-bodied wine for sure, but ultimately it shows balance. Compared to Loacker's other Riserva, the Anemone al Sole, this wine offers a degree more intensity, more ripeness for sure, and more pronounced tannins. This is the bigger, more structured and ultimately more cellar-worthy of the two. The wine's name Molino al Vento (windmill) pays homage to the winds that blow over this highest altitude vineyard.

Corte Pavone

Close your eyes, then open them to the enchanting panorama of Tuscan, where a grand entrance gate beckons, a cypress avenue stretches endlessly, and the picturesque town of Montalcino unfolds before you Hayo Loacker's Tenuta Corte Pavone,. It's an unforgettable experience. Here, wine is not just tasted but felt, smelled, and seen in its most splendid form. The gates of Corte Pavone are open to you almost anytime. The wines from Corte Pavone in Montalcino are distinctive, elegant, and brimming with character. They predominantly showcase one grape variety: Sangiovese, 100%. Through meticulous measurements with advanced infrared sensors throughout Corte Pavone, Hayo has crafted a dynamic micro-parceling into distinct growth zones, defining seven unique layers of Brunello, known as the "7 DYNAMIC BRUNELLO CRUS." These crus are dynamic because the grape selection within each vineyard is finely tuned at harvest, guided by new measurements tailored to the vintage.
