Tasting Notes

The 2019 Pinot Gris opens with a hint of a Campari note, from the prolonged skin contact, along with rich notes of ginger, apple strudel and ripe Bosc pears. There is a textural weight and complexity to this wine without losing any focus and drive. A dry Pinot Gris with a long, lingering finish and lots of personality. It has a borderline perceivable sweetness mostly showing as fruitiness.

Winemaking:Before pressing, the bunches were held in a cool room for some extended time on skins for 16 hours. Once pressed the juice went straight to tank and was fermented until it was almost dry, ‘off-dry’.

In the late 1980s, Georg Fromm and Hätsch Kalberer came together to establish FROMM Winery. Their official winemaking journey began in 1992 with the planting of the first vines. Although the Fromms returned to Switzerland in 2008, FROMM Winery now continues under the leadership of owners Pol Lenzinger, Stephan Walliser, and George Walliser.
