Tasting Notes

Nestled in Entre-Deux-Mers near Montussan, Château Lavergne Dulong stands on the route connecting Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion, UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Back in 1873, a young couple, John and Fanny, erected a baroque castle at Lavergne, immortalizing their initials beneath a muse's gaze. They introduced grape cultivation, a tradition still thriving today. Their 100% Sauvignon Blanc wine is a harmonious blend of Sauvignon Blanc's vivacity and lees aging's complexity. Creamy and lush, it strikes a delicate balance between sweetness, ripeness, and a refreshing citrus finish.

Chateau Lavergne Dulong

In 1873, a tale of love unfolded as John, an Englishman, and Fanny, a Bordelaise, embarked on a journey that would lead them to build a baroque castle in a place called Lavergne, nestled within the town of Montussan. The name "Dulong" was later added by the eponymous family, who held stewardship of the Château until 2014. Today, the custodian of this legacy is Thomas Christen, entrusted with the technical management of the estate and the evolution of its marketing endeavors. Thomas played a pivotal role in steering the chateau toward biodynamic practices, drawing from his experience as a winemaker and director at Bodegas Chacra in Patagonia. The estate itself rests upon a sandy-clay plateau, adorned by the embrace of a neighboring forest. It's a 14.5-hectare oasis of green, where vineyards thrive and the alchemy of crafting exceptional wines unfolds. This locale is a viticultural dream, an ideal stage for the creation of wines that sing with quality and distinction.
