Why buy your organic Burgundy pinot noir from FAB

Every producer in this collection holds independent organic certification, verified by our team before the wine goes live on the site. We taste every bottle. We check every claim. If a producer's certification lapses or their farming practices change, they leave the collection. That standard does not move.

What you find here are small, often family-run domaines who farm their vines without pesticides or herbicides, harvest by hand, and intervene as little as possible in the winery. They make wine the way Burgundy's most respected producers have always made it — by trusting the land to do the work. Buying from FAB means you are buying from the people who actually verified that.

When your Burgundy Pinot Noir order arrives

Stand the bottle upright for 24 to 48 hours before you open it. Wine travels under stress, and a short rest allows it to return to its full expression. You will notice the difference in how it shows.

After that, store your Burgundy on its side somewhere cool, dark, and stable. The conditions that suit it best are:

  • A consistent temperature between 12°C and 15°C, which preserves the delicate aromatic structure that makes Bourgogne pinot noir worth cellaring

  • Complete darkness during storage, because UV light degrades wine more quickly than most people realise

  • Freedom from vibration, which disrupts the slow, beneficial development of bottle age

A dedicated wine fridge is the best long-term solution. A cool interior cupboard works well for bottles you plan to enjoy within one to two years.

Once you open a bottle, organic Bourgogne pinot noir is best within two to three days. It is a lighter-bodied red with fine tannin and pronounced acidity, which makes it more sensitive to oxygen than a fuller variety. Recork carefully, refrigerate, and bring it back to around 15°C before your next pour.

Frequently asked questions

Why should I buy organic Burgundy pinot noir from FAB rather than a larger retailer?
Large retailers stock organic wine alongside conventional wine without independently verifying the certification behind each bottle. FAB stocks only certified organic and biodynamic producers, and every listing is checked against the producer's current certification before it appears on the site. That verification process is structural, not optional, and it applies to every Burgundy in this collection regardless of price point.

Is certified organic Bourgogne also preservative-free?
Organic certification governs the vineyard: no synthetic pesticides, no herbicides, and no chemical intervention throughout the growing season. Whether a wine is also preservative-free depends on the individual producer's approach in the winery. Some use minimal sulphur, others use none at all. Every product page on FAB states exactly what is and is not in the bottle, so you can make an informed decision before you buy.

How do I know my Burgundy will arrive safely if I live outside Sydney?
FAB delivers Australia-wide and every order is packed carefully by our team in Sydney to protect the wine throughout transit. Free delivery applies to all orders over $200. If you prefer to collect in person or taste before committing, the FAB store in Surry Hills is open every day from 12 to 8pm.

How do I choose between a Bourgogne wine and a Premier Cru in this collection?
Classic Bourgogne pinot noir is made for drinking within five to seven years and offers genuine quality for regular occasions. Premier Cru expressions come from specific classified plots with greater soil complexity, and they reward patience, typically showing their best after seven to ten years in the bottle. If you are building a cellar, both levels belong in it. If you want something to open this month, start with a village Bourgogne and return for the Premier Cru when you are ready to wait for it
