Tasting Notes

The Parc is a rare cuvée, from an organically grown plot located in the former park of the Château de Chamboureau, considered one of the historic clos of the Savennières appellation. 2019 reveals a brilliant pale gold colour with green reflections, offering a refined and expressive nose of white peach, citrus blossom, and crushed stone with subtle hints of honey and flint; on the palate, it is taut and vibrant with a precise mineral core, silky yet structured texture, lively acidity, and flavours of ripe pear, lemon zest, and saline notes, finishing long, clean, and mouthwatering, showcasing both immediate charm and impressive aging potential.

Wine Ageing:6 Months in stainless steel tanks, followed by 12 Months in Large oak casks

Winemaking Style:Traditional

Harvest:The vintage began with an early budburst in April, followed by a cold spring with frosts that slightly affected the crop. Despite delayed flowering, the hot summer kept the harvest date on September 18th, typical of recent years. The warm, dry conditions and mild autumn produced grapes of excellent quality, with balanced sugar and acidity.

Winemaking:Grapes are gently pressed, and the juice is transferred by gravity into fermentation tanks, minimizing handling and oxidation to preserve purity. From the outset, the estate has chosen to avoid malolactic fermentation, a deliberate decision that retains the natural acidity

Viticulture:This vineyard is based on a unique terroir of hard rhyolite, volcanic rock formed in the primary era, covered with a sandy loam soil. This composition gives the soil excellent drainage and low vigour, ideal conditions for producing grapes of remarkable concentration and finesse.

Food Pairing:Omelette with porcini mushrooms, sea cicada and shellfish, asparagus, endives, and artichokes

Domaine FL | Organic Chenin Blanc from Savennières, Loire Valley

Domaine FL, named after owner Philippe Fournier Longchamps, is a family-owned estate in the Loire Valley, with winemaking now led by his son Julien. The family acquired Domaine Jo Pithon and Château de Chamboureau in 2006 and 2007, bringing the estates together in a new winery in Rochefort-sur-Loire in 2011. Today, the estate farms over 30 hectares of vines, predominantly Chenin Blanc, alongside Cabernet Franc. Its vineyards span diverse schist, rhyolite and clay soils across the Loire, including the renowned Savennières Roche aux Moines and Quart de Chaume — two of the Loire Valley's most celebrated appellations for Chenin Blanc. Certified organic since 2009, Domaine FL also farms selected parcels biodynamically, producing expressive organic Chenin Blanc wines across six Loire appellations. Their commitment to minimal intervention in both vineyard and winery allows the unique terroirs of the Loire Valley to speak clearly in every bottle. From the mineral intensity of their Savennières to the honeyed complexity of their Quart de Chaume, Domaine FL's wines are a benchmark for what organic Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley can achieve.
