Tasting Notes

Teixar de Vinyes Domènech is a truly exceptional wine, being the first wine from the D.O. Montsant and the fourth in Catalonia to receive the prestigious classification of 'Vi de finca Qualificada' from INCAVI. This distinguished recognition highlights the wine's extraordinary qualities, which stem from its unique climatic characteristics and the use of grapes sourced from a single Vineyard.Teixar stands as a testament to nature's unmatched prowess in crafting aromatic complexity. It unveils a symphony of ripe red fruits, including currants, blackberries, and cherries, while those with patience are rewarded as it gradually reveals its profound aniseed nuances entwined with hints of refreshing menthol. Subtle pepper notes gracefully emerge, accompanied by traces of licorice and the fragrant herbs of the Mediterranean undergrowth, such as rosemary and lavender. Its red fruit dances harmoniously with an array of balsamic notes drawn from the medicinal herbs of our surroundings, along with spicy accents. An undercurrent of acidity and saline touches adds depth and melds gracefully on the palate.

Decanter Magazine

Teixar gets ever better – a modern classic in the land of Garnachas. It’s made from the rare ‘hairy' Garnacha Peluda and delivers redcurrant fruit, garrigue, spice and power. There’s a warm lick of alcohol to the finish. Foursquare, it’s built to last.

Vinyes Domenech

Nestled within a protected natural haven of remarkable beauty, Vinyes Domènech is a wine estate that calls the captivating landscape between the Sierra de Llaberia and Montalt its home. Situated to the south of the renowned Priorat region, Vinyes Domènech is a testament to the profound connection between the land and the vines, one that immerses you in a state of emotional equilibrium. It's a natural amphitheater enveloped by the lush embrace of the forest, perched at altitudes ranging from 300 to 500 meters above sea level. In the year 2002, the Domenech-Nogueroles family embarked on a mission to safeguard and enhance the estate's invaluable natural heritage. Their vision materialized into a wine project, one that harmoniously mirrors the landscape and the rich biodiversity of the surroundings, ultimately creating a unique ecosystem, where the vines and the land exist in profound harmony, and their wines are a testament to the enduring connection between nature and winemaking.
