Tasting Notes

In the world of small-parcel Barolo, renowned sites often steal the limelight. Nevertheless, the Oberto family cultivates several smaller vineyards whose yields don't warrant individual vinification. From these lesser-known plots, they've crafted an accessible Barolo, exclusively available here at an attractive price. This wine reveals a classic and delicate violet aroma, along with a smooth taste that carries hints of tobacco and black truffle.

Erbaluna

Erbaluna, a name synonymous with tradition, character, and charm, represents the Oberto family's cherished winery. Like many wineries in Piedmont, the Obertos have embraced modernization while preserving their deep-rooted traditions. New fermentation tanks have been introduced to enhance the extraction of fruit, aromas, and color, resulting in shorter maceration times. The wines exhibit a well-structured tannin framework, now finely woven, making them more approachable in their youth while retaining their aging potential. These wines offer an optimal price-quality ratio, outshining many conventional Barolos of similar quality at higher prices. The Rocche dell'Annunziata vineyard, in the heart of Barolo's epicenter in La Morra, is a prized possession of the Oberto family. Their Barolos' remarkable aging potential continues to captivate us, especially when we uncork an old vintage from our collection.
