The folks at the Corte Pavone property do a masterful job of teasing out both the elegance and power that is natural to aged Sangiovese. The Loacker Schwarhof 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Corte Pavone Fior di Meliloto is dark, saturated and savory in character. The Campo Marzio expression has more dark fruit, whereas this wine (with a similarly slim release of 1,997 bottles) shows some charred meat, campfire ash and cedar wood. You will also find the sort of dark and plummy fruit you should expect of this mighty Tuscan grape. Delicate mineral renderings appear on the smooth and velvety finish.

Corte Pavone

Close your eyes, then open them to the enchanting panorama of Tuscan, where a grand entrance gate beckons, a cypress avenue stretches endlessly, and the picturesque town of Montalcino unfolds before you Hayo Loacker's Tenuta Corte Pavone,. It's an unforgettable experience. Here, wine is not just tasted but felt, smelled, and seen in its most splendid form. The gates of Corte Pavone are open to you almost anytime. The wines from Corte Pavone in Montalcino are distinctive, elegant, and brimming with character. They predominantly showcase one grape variety: Sangiovese, 100%. Through meticulous measurements with advanced infrared sensors throughout Corte Pavone, Hayo has crafted a dynamic micro-parceling into distinct growth zones, defining seven unique layers of Brunello, known as the "7 DYNAMIC BRUNELLO CRUS." These crus are dynamic because the grape selection within each vineyard is finely tuned at harvest, guided by new measurements tailored to the vintage.
