Tasting Notes

Paleo Rosso is a powerful and elegant expression of Cabernet Franc from Tuscany's Bolgheri region. It showcases a deep ruby-red colour with complex aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries, and subtle notes of tobacco, leather, and spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish. The integration of oak adds depth and structure, balancing the wine's natural acidity and fruit intensity. This vintage is expected to age gracefully, developing additional complexity over time.

Winemaking Style:Traditional

Harvest:2017 Bolgheri vintage was marked by a warm, dry summer and moderate rainfall, producing ripe, concentrated grapes. Wines from this year show intensity, balanced structure, and excellent aging potential.

Winemaking:The grapes undergo fermentation in cement vats, a method that enhances the expression of the grape's natural flavors.

Viticulture:The grapes for Paleo Rosso are sourced from four of Le Macchiole's five estate vineyards: Casa Nuova, Vignone, Puntone, and Vignone. These vineyards are situated approximately 6 km east of the coast, about 3 km south-southwest of the village of Bolgheri, at elevations ranging from 32 to 40 meters above sea level.
