Organic Hill
Organic Hill's genesis encompasses a rich tapestry of experience acquired throughout Leon Hill's two-decade-long journey in the wine industry. This venture was deeply personal and underscored his health-conscious ethos. Leon's odyssey into the realm of organic winemaking commenced on a personal note in 2009. It was prompted by his discovery of gluten intolerance, which, although not classified as coeliac disease, necessitated a quest for gluten-free alternatives. This exploration led him to the vibrant world of organic shops scattered in and around Melbourne, many of which also stocked organic wines. A period of extensive trial and error ensued in search of solutions to his dietary sensitivities, ultimately revealing that preservatives were the culprits triggering his allergies. Consequently, the choice of organic wines emerged as a natural and sensible decision. As for the name, it was a straightforward decision. Given that Leon Hill himself is a 'Hill,' it was only fitting to incorporate his pioneering family surname, a symbol of authenticity. Organic Hill Wines' vineyard is strategically situated within the coveted Golden Triangle of McLaren Vale, sharing its neighbourhood with renowned wineries such as D'Arenberg, Angoves, and Maxwell.
