Tasting Notes

A testament to biodynamic craftsmanship, Hélène Thibon's artisanal blend masterfully weaves the delicate nuances of Roussanne, Viognier, and Clairette. The 2020 vintage bursts with the exuberance of ripe orchard fruits and zesty citrus. Its sumptuous depth is perfectly counterbalanced by a crisp, mineral undertone, delivering a symphony of flavors that dance harmoniously on the palate. Each sip is a beautifully orchestrated experience, resonating with authenticity and grace.

Mas de Libian

Mas de Libian's journey began in 1970 when Jean-Pierre Thibon took the reins, constructing the first winemaking cellar. By 1995, his daughter Hélène Thibon and her husband Alain Macagno had joined, giving birth to 'Mas de Libian.' A decade later, Catherine Thibon, Hélène's sister, became involved, and today, the family tends to twenty-five hectares of vines. Their wines resonate with remarkable complexity and a mineral character, reflecting their earth-to-glass philosophy and exceptional vineyard sites in the cooler, rocky region of Ardeche. They embrace a holistic farming approach, hand-cultivating the vines and avoiding chemicals. Achieving Demeter biodynamic certification in 2005, they prioritize a healthy grape-growing environment with minimal sulfur usage, or none at all in some cases. This eco-conscious approach yields wines that encapsulate the region's natural richness and allure, making Mas de Libian a standout in the Southern Rhône.
