Domaine de Montille

Domaine de Montille boasts a legacy dating back to the early 18th century. However, its modern renaissance began in 1947 when, at the tender age of 17, Hubert de Montille took the reins due to his father's passing. By 1951, the domain was under his full stewardship. The next chapter commenced as Etienne, Hubert's son, began to immerse himself in the family's wine endeavors. Since 1990, Etienne's influence has been pivotal, propelling the domaine's stature skyward. Strategic vineyard acquisitions expanding their holdings in the Côte d’Or. With a forward-thinking spirit, Etienne pioneered the shift to organic cultivation in 1995, culminating in a full commitment to biodynamics a decade later. While Hubert's wines echoed patience and introspection, Etienne's craftsmanship embodies vibrancy and immediacy. This evolution stems from meticulous vineyard management, judicious yield control, renouncing chemical fertilizers, keen monitoring of ripeness, and precision in winemaking.
