Tasting Notes

Located in the northern part of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation, this Domaine is truly unique, boasting three distinct terroirs with ancient vines as their foundation. The region's renowned pebbles scattered over clay and sandy soils impart complexity and elegance to the wines. The vineyard, managed using biodynamic practices, benefits from rigorous grape selection and precise winemaking techniques. This approach is applied consistently across all vineyards, underscoring the Estate's dedication and reverence for the vines. The 2013 Chateauneuf-du-Pape opens with an ethereal bouquet of raspberry, dried herbs, liquorice, and leather. On the palate, it maintains a remarkable freshness while upholding a sturdy structure. The finish is impressively long, dominated by the vibrant essence of fresh red fruits and herbs.

The 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Vieilles Vignes (same blend as the 2013) will see 20-24 months in concrete tank prior to bottling. Juicy, bright and vibrant, with plenty of plum, blackberry, ground herbs and violets, it too is medium-bodied, reasonably well-textured and nicely balanced.

Light purple. Rich and ripe – purple, exotically floral fruits and impressively juicy. Quite a bit of acidity and some fresh tannins but an attractive package. Just a little dry on the end.
