Tasting Notes

In 2015, Piedmont enjoyed a year of equilibrium. Adequate snowfall in January and spring rains provided ample water resources for Andrea Oberto's prestigious site, ROCCHE DELL'ANNUNZIATA, known for its calcareous marl soils. Consequently, the Nebbiolo grapes were well-prepared to endure the summer heat in this classic cru area of La Morra, achieving excellent maturation with ideal acidity and impressive tannic quality. Presently, the aroma presents notes of black tobacco, coffee, cedar wood, and subtle hints of sweet blueberries and wild berries, while the tannins retain their firm grip. This vintage reaffirms the timeless wisdom of Barolo winemaking: those with the patience to wait will be richly rewarded.
