Harvest:Grown on the flat blocks at the west of the vineyard, on windblown loess and clay soils. Fruit was harvested in the cool of the early morning to retain freshness and acidity.

Viticulture:Unique limestone conglomerate in which the vine roots grow (greystone). A limestone mix of fossils, sea shells and small pebbles that have been fused together through the seismic movement of North Canterbury. The north-facing limestone hills slope down to clay, the perfect combination for growing wines with minerality and concentration.

Food Pairing:Grilled prawns, Roast chicken with herbs, Gruyère and mushroom quiche, Pear and gorgonzola salad, Thai green curry or Vietnamese spring rolls, Scallops in lemon butter sauce, Fresh sushi, Summer pasta salad, Poached salmon with dill sauce, Spinach and strawberry salad, Grilled zucchini.

Reviews and Accolades

The Real Review - Bob Campbell MW

Moderately intense pinot gris, with typical ripe pear and honeysuckle flavours together with a savoury, toasty, nutty character from contact with the yeast lees. A smooth-textured and accessible wine with a lingering finish.
