Pale gold straw in colour. This wine displays lifted aromas of stone fruit, quince & apple blossom with subtle almond notes. Fresh white nectarine and ripe grapefruit carry onto the palate with bright fruit intensity and light oak structure. Delicate hints of hazelnut are delivered due to nine months maturation in puncheons and barrique.

Harvest:The Hunter Valley is well adept at handling cool and wet vintages, and 2022 put its skills to the test. Good viticultural management proved to be the key to a season of great fruit flavour and impressive natural acid retention.

Winemaking:The pristine fruit was picked at optimum ripeness in the cool of the night. The free-run juice was fermented with wild yeast in both new and aged French puncheons & barriques, plus a portion was fermented in stainless steel to maintain the lively fresh fruit characters. The wine matured for 9 months with regular stirring where 50% went through malolactic fermentation in barrels, before final blending and bottling. The resultant wine is a well-balanced, elegant modern Chardonnay.
