Tasting Notes

Base 2021. Disgorged February 2024. Latitude is composed entirely of Côte des Blancs Chardonnay from vineyards on the southern side of Vertus. The bottles are aged over two years, manually disgorged and dosed at low, extra brut levels, six months before release. Pure and mineral, the recent bottlings reveal even more texture and stone-fruit depth, without sacrificing the cut-diamond precision and citrusy, chalky energy that is characteristic. In essence, it is a classic Larmandier wine, exuding elegance. The dosage is 4 grams per litre.

James Suckling

From the south of Vertus, this has a very fresh, lemon and peach style with a gentle, lemon-pastry edge. The palate has a very fleshy feel with attractively ripe and supple, fleshy and gently chalky finish.

Decanter Magazine

This is one of my favourite grower Champagnes; it always delivers in terms of price versus quality. This 100% Chardonnay is incredibly elegant and polished with notes of citrus and white flower. The palate opens up to a rich texture balanced by notes of tangerine and citrus. With only 4 grams per litre of sugar it is dry, showing purity with an amazing depth and persistence.
