Tasting Notes

Château Couronneau has been unwavering in its adherence to the strictest standards of organic and biodynamic farming, earning Ecocert certification in 1999 and Demeter certification in 2013. Since 2004, the estate has been committed to improving water and waste efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. The Bordeaux Supérieur presents a rich and deep purple color. Initially, it has a very rich, albeit slightly tight nose, which gradually opens up to reveal spicy notes such as cloves and liquorice, intermingling with candied fruit flavors like prune. On the palate, it makes a direct and forceful impression, displaying a firm yet smooth tannic structure, leading to a lengthy and exquisite finish. - Hachette des Vins

Château Couronneau

Château Couronneau enjoys the rare privilege of an idyllic location for cultivating vines. It sits atop the highest pinnacle of the Gironde, a lofty 185 meters above sea level, where the clay-limestone soils, rich in active iron, nurture the vines and enable the authentic terroir to shine through. Here, a dedicated team of six individuals, guided by Christophe and Grégoire Piat, breathes life into the estate each day. Their extensive expertise, coupled with state-of-the-art equipment continuously updated, ensures they work under optimal conditions. But Château Couronneau is more than a vineyard; it's a place where the well-being and safety of all are paramount. The vineyard thrives in every aspect because they firmly believe that its success is intrinsically tied to the dedication and passion of those who toil there. A testament to the fusion of nature, tradition, and the people who nurture its legacy.
