Tasting Notes

Discover the '7 Dynamic Brunello Crus.' A decade ago, Hayo Loacker's passion led him on a journey akin to Burgundy's vineyard classification at Corte Pavone, Montalcino. Through precise infrared sensing and dynamic micro-parcelling, seven unique Brunello vineyards emerged. Each harvest season, new measurements refine grape selection, optimizing the individuality of each vineyard. Campo Marzio 2015: a deep, dark ruby spectacle. Breathe in the symphony of dark berries, ripe blackberries, and blackcurrant, tinged with a spicy note. Relish the powerful finish complemented by velvet tannins. This is more than a wine; it's a charismatic expression in every sip."

The Loacker Corte Pavone estate in Montalcino has recently released a series of single-vineyard wines, and I have reviewed two of them at this time. The first of the two is the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Corte Pavone Campo Marzio, an exclusive release of 2,640 bottles and a deeply layered and nicely concentrated expression that definitely delivers the goods. The attractive bouquet parades out one part primary fruit, one part spice and one part tangy herb and licorice.

Corte Pavone

Close your eyes, then open them to the enchanting panorama of Tuscan, where a grand entrance gate beckons, a cypress avenue stretches endlessly, and the picturesque town of Montalcino unfolds before you Hayo Loacker's Tenuta Corte Pavone,. It's an unforgettable experience. Here, wine is not just tasted but felt, smelled, and seen in its most splendid form. The gates of Corte Pavone are open to you almost anytime. The wines from Corte Pavone in Montalcino are distinctive, elegant, and brimming with character. They predominantly showcase one grape variety: Sangiovese, 100%. Through meticulous measurements with advanced infrared sensors throughout Corte Pavone, Hayo has crafted a dynamic micro-parceling into distinct growth zones, defining seven unique layers of Brunello, known as the "7 DYNAMIC BRUNELLO CRUS." These crus are dynamic because the grape selection within each vineyard is finely tuned at harvest, guided by new measurements tailored to the vintage.
