Tasting Notes

Amastuola Estate is one of its kind due to its landscape made of vine rows positioned as parallels and waves throughout the vineyards. On the plateau of Amastuola, ancients Greeks started growing grapes over 3000 years ago. Now in the capable hands of Giuseppe Montanaro, he mixes historical traditions with innovation. He allows Mediterranean native varieties to grow in harmony with the terroir and in the total respect of the environment and the surrounding ecosystem. In this blend of Fiano and Malvasia, the wine presents a pale straw-yellow hue with greenish highlights. Its aroma is delicately inviting, featuring mild floral notes of acacia and rosewood, complemented by hints of pear, lemon, and a touch of wild herbs. The palate offers a smooth and refreshing experience, with lively acidity and a finish that combines citrus and floral nuances.

Amastuola

Two millennia ago, the Greeks tended to vines and olive trees on the fertile Amastuola plateau. Fast forward to today, and the Montanaro family has breathed new life into these ancient traditions. Their unwavering belief in the local wine industry led to an ambitious and entirely organic endeavor, aimed at dispelling the ghosts of past neglect that loomed over the region's agricultural landscape. Out of this dedication emerged the 'Amastuola' garden vineyard, a creation brought to life by the vision of renowned landscape architect Fernando Caruncho. He artfully designed undulating vine rows that seem to ripple like waves through the tapestry of time in this ancient land. This renaissance began with the vineyard, now lovingly known as the "Vineyard-Garden Amastuola." It has become a place of pilgrimage for garden enthusiasts, botanists, and intrepid garden magazine journalists from across the globe. They are all drawn to the compelling narrative of this remarkable reawakening, where a rich history meets a promising future.
