Tasting Notes

Located in the northern part of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation, this Domaine is truly unique, boasting three distinct terroirs with ancient vines as their foundation. The region's renowned pebbles scattered over clay and sandy soils impart complexity and elegance to the wines. The vineyard, managed using biodynamic practices, benefits from rigorous grape selection and precise winemaking techniques. This approach is applied consistently across all vineyards, underscoring the Estate's dedication and reverence for the vines. The 2017 Chateauneuf-du-Pape delights with an abundance of fresh red and dark berries on the nose, complemented by hints of garrigue, leather, and mineral notes. The palate presents a luxurious creamy structure that culminates in a long and silky finish.

James Suckling

Cherries, strawberries, roasted meat, dried earth and baking spices. It’s medium- to- full-bodied with fine tannins. Ample and well-structured with balance and a velvety, spicy touch on the palate. Focused and layered towards the finish. Grenache, mourvedre, syrah, cinsault and clairette. From biodynamically grown grapes.

A close rival to the 2016, Villeneuve's 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape easily mixes cherries and berries on the nose. It's full-bodied and fruit-forward, with a lush, creamy texture on the palate and a bit of licorice on the silky finish. Matured only in concrete tanks.
